Aquatic Therapy Rehabilitation In a Warm Water Environment
Aquatic therapy can benefit all types of rehabilitation patients, from a child with rheumatoid arthritis or an adult recovering from a car accident to an athlete with an othopaedic injury. By using warm water exercises you actually decrease the amount of stress on your joints, thus decreasing pain and stiffness. And because the water offers resistance in every direction, opposing muscles work equally so you develop muscular strength, endurance and joint flexibility. Healing can be accelerated and atrophy to the injured area minimized.
