Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic Therapy Rehabilitation In a Warm Water Environment

Aquatic therapy can benefit all types of rehabilitation patients, from a child with rheumatoid arthritis or an adult recovering from a car accident to an athlete with an othopaedic injury. By using warm water exercises you actually decrease the amount of stress on your joints, thus decreasing pain and stiffness. And because the water offers resistance in every direction, opposing muscles work equally so you develop muscular strength, endurance and joint flexibility. Healing can be accelerated and atrophy to the injured area minimized.

Benefits of Aquatic Therapy:

  • Increase muscular strength, endurance and tone
  • Increase range of motion and flexibility
  • Increase mobility and ambulation
  • Prevent or decrease structural deformities
  • Improve posture, balance and coordination
  • Improve circulation and respiration
  • Promote relaxation
  • Enhance general fitness
  • Maintain ideal body weight
  • Improve self-esteem, morale and self-confidence

Due to our community based and hands on approach pool therapy can be completed at our neighborhood pool
