Speech Language Pathologist provide non-medical application of principles, methods, and procedures for the measurement, testing, assessment, prediction, counseling or introduction related to the development and disorders of speech, voice, language or oral, pharyngeal, and laryngeal sensiorimotor competencies for the purpose of assessing, preventing, treating, ameliorating or modifying such disorders and conditions in individuals.
Speech Language Pathologist identifies, assess and treat persons with speech, language, voice and fluency disorders. SLP identify and treat speech, language and swallowing disorders resulting from conditions such as total or partial hearing loss, brain injury, cerebral palsy, cleft palate, voice pathology, mental retardation, faulty learning, emotional problems, or foreign dialect. They also counsel patients and families about communication disorders and how to cope with the stress and misunderstanding that often accompany a communication disorder.

Audiologist provide non medical application of principles, methods, and procedures for the assessment of the auditory and vestibular system, including the interpretation of behavioral and psychological measures, and the design and implementation of programs of hearing conservation and preservation, and programs of habilitation and rehabilitation for auditory and vestibular disorders including the assessment, selection, fitting, and sale of amplification systems or other assertive devices and technologies.
